Welcome Troy

We are incredibly excited to announce that Troy Coombs is joining Hookdeck as a Senior Backend Developer!

Troy started his developer journey at Quorum Information Technologies in its early days, where he grew alongside the company as he witnessed it expand to 500 employees. His thirst for knowledge and challenges has led him to work in many fields, with titles ranging from System Analyst to Solution Architect. When it comes to experience, Troy brings his technical expertise to the table as he thrives in system design and implementation, data management, and troubleshooting. Alongside his technical experience, Troy also brings invaluable first-hand knowledge from his experience growing a startup into a successful venture.

At Hookdeck, Troy will be working closely with Maurice and Val as they tackle the long list of various backend and infrastructure challenges so that we can continue supporting our users’ growth regarding webhook usage. As the third member of the backend team, Troy's contributions helping us scale the product, which includes but is not limited to overall reliability, backend optimization, and managing and monitoring the infrastructure, will be a pillar to the success of Hookdeck.

On top of development, Troy loves to spend his time outdoors; he enjoys the rawness of nature alongside his wife and two huskies! Throughout his 20-year coding career, Troy has been honing his technical skills as well as his mental fortitude. He’s had the opportunity to consider what is important to him and shapes his lifestyle accordingly by making decisions that will allow him to nurture his commitment to his family, friends, passions, and well-being. Troy recently started a trend by sharing his tidbits of wisdom through daily quotes in Hookdeck's Slack!

We imagine a world where the needless complexities of asynchronous event-based communication are abstracted away, setting teams free to focus on building the things they love rather than the infrastructure around them. We are thrilled to count on Troy's backend expertise and empathetic personality on this journey ahead of us as we redefine the future of the connected web.
